Killarney’s business leaders have sent out a loud and clear message to the local business community and the people of the town saying “We will get through this together and there will be better days”.
Senior Chamber of Tourism and Commerce officials were out and about very early on this morning (Thursday) to erect a giant banner across Main Street with the timely message: “Take care of yourselves and each other. #Love Killarney”.
The width-of-street banner is located at the exact spot normally used to promote big community events in the town but all thoughts have now turned to coping with the COVID-19 pandemic. Volunteers who joined Chamber President Paul Sherry on banner erection duties were Chamber members Paul O’Neill, John O’Shea, Martin Walsh and Etienne van Vrede.
The Chamber is determined to offer support to all during the crisis which is having a devastating impact on the commercial, social and normal day to day life in the town.
“We want to assure people that we are with them every step of the way,” Paul Sherry said.
“The Chamber is here to help and anything that can be done to assist others will be done.
“Our message is that we will get through this together and there will be better days ahead in this wonderful town.”
