Locals and visitors alike are invited to a unique 4.30am sunrise and yoga experience at Dinis Cottage next week.

‘Éirí Na Gréine’, the Gaelic term for ‘sunrise’ takes place on Sunday, June 2 and promises to give participants an experience they’ll never forget – the beauty of a Celtic sunrise in the serenity of Killarney National Park.

The event is being organised by Kerry footballer Brendan Kealy, Life Coach, Gym Owner and Personal Trainer Michael Lindsay, and Chartered Physiotherapist and Pilates Instructor, Ruth Allen.

The morning starts with a dynamic and energetic yoga class which will take place as the sun rises over the beautiful Lakes of Killarney.

This will be followed by a meditative hike up the front facing Cardiac Steps of Torc Mountain led by Michael Lindsay.

After the hike the group will return to the beautiful and serene setting of Dinis Cottage and enjoy a hearty and restorative breakfast overlooking the breath-taking Lakes of Killarney and surrounding mountains. Bookings can be made via

“How many people say they want to get up and see the sunrise but don’t actually get around to doing it,” Brendan said. “This will provide a sunrise experience that has never been done before.

“All three of us are working in the health and wellness business and the more we spoke about it , the more it made sense to do it,” Michael added. “We had a contact at Dinis and went from there. Last week Brendan and I did a dry run and the top of Cardiac Hill is a very different place as the sun rises.”

The June 2 event is a one-off for now, but they said they could potentially add more dates and include more locations within Killarney National Park.

During the hike Michael will take participants through some techniques to aid daily meditation and visualisation practices as well as some valuable stress management tips.
