The Glenbeigh Hotel has been ranked as one of the county’s top establishments after winning the ‘Best Gastro Pub in Kerry’ at the Irish Restaurant Awards.
The Munster Regional Final for the 2019 Irish Restaurant Awards took place in the Strand Hotel, Limerick, on Wednesday (March 27), where awards were presented to the country’s leading chefs, restaurants and pubs.
Over 550 people attended the third of four regional events, where the top establishments in each county were named.
All of those who won at county level will now compete for the Regional and All-Ireland titles, which will be announced at the Irish Restaurant Awards in the Clayton Hotel, Dublin on Monday, May 13.
Chef Noel Dennehy, Manager Karen O’Sullivan, and Manager Brian Keary, attended the awards.
“It’s a huge honour for the hotel to be recognised,” Brian said.
“The whole team has worked very hard over the last 12 months to improve and build on our service and cuisine – this award is a testament to the amazing chefs and staff we are lucky to have at The Glenbeigh Hotel – I’m delighted for each and every one of them.”
Now in its 11th year, the Irish Restaurant Awards continues to showcase the incredible food that is on offer in the cafes, pubs and restaurants of Ireland, as well as recognising the teams behind these establishments and the hard work and dedication that they put in, Adrian Cummins, Chief Executive of the Restaurants Association of Ireland (RAI) added.
“With well over 90,000 nominations received from the public this year, the standard for the judging process was higher than ever.”
