One local woman has taken the lockdown opportunity to take her passion and set up her own unique baking business.
Tara Tangney, who works as a full-time baker in Muckross House, decided that while temporarily off work due to COVID-19, to make her baking dreams a reaity and set up ‘Tara’s Baked Bouquets’ specialising in handmade floral cupcake bouquets.
They are a tasty alternative to sending flowers and available in a selection of sizes including 7, 12, 19, 24 and 30 cupcakes.
“I’m a baker by trade and have always made home made cakes for family and friends,” Tara, who lives in Muckross, told the Killarney Advertiser.
“It’s an idea that I have been brewing over for a long time. I work full-time in Muckross House bakery, but as it closed during lockdown I took the opportunity.”
The products are stunning and suitable for every occasion from birthdays to baby showers, from new job to a new house, weddings, or simply to say thinking of you or thank you.
“My bouquets are a unique gift made to order for individual’s taste and requirements. I am Level 2 Food Hygiene and Allergy Certified, registered and insured. Long term I’d love to have my own bakery.”
