CLEANING UP: Killarney Tidy Towns volunteers out cleaning and edging recently.

Killarney Tidy Towns group reported the largest turnout so far this year following a Killarney Advertiser feature in last week’s edition.
The local dedicated group, who are out and about every Monday evening helping to keep Killarney look its best, reported 33 volunteer helpers on Monday evening.
“They were busy on Dalys roundabout,” Johnny McGuire said.
“We’d a busy night. The island was cleaned and painted, the grass verge was edged and trimmed from the bottom of Pike Hill to Killarney Sports and Leisure Centre. Everything was given a good spring clean for the judges who are out and about at the moment adjudicating for the Tidy Towns competition, which will go on through July and August.”
The volunteers’ next outing takes place this Monday, July 1, at Cleany roundabout at 6.30pm, meeting at Lidl car park.
“We’re calling on all business owners and residents to come out and lend a hand. All help is greatly appreciated,” he said.
