Shocked locals and tourists witnessed a five-person brawl just off a busy Killarney street in broad daylight at lunchtime yesterday (Thursday).
Four men and one woman were involved in a violent fracas on Barry’s Lane – just off High Street – at around 1pm.
An alert passer-by immediately called the Gardai but one of the men ran off down High Street towards the town centre before they arrived.
Gardai rushed to the scene and found a young woman in a distressed state ripping at her clothing.
Another man, who appeared drunk, was shouting “this is my town”.
The other two people shut themselves into an apartment building on the street before Gardai arrived.
Killarney Garda confirmed that a male and female were arrested on public order offences. They believe the fight started in a nearby pub.
