Some will know him from his regular gigs in the Tatler and the Fáilte – and now he’ll be known even more as local musician Shane Kennedy is today (Friday) releasing his first ever single.

Also known as PISHKIN, the young and talented musician and singer, will release ‘Road To Your Heart’ on Spotify, iTunes and all streaming platforms worldwide, followed by a radio campaign within the next two weeks.

Speaking to the Killarney Advertiser this week, Shane said he is both excited and a little nervous about the single’s release but that it is something that the 21-year-old has wanted to do for a long while now.

“I have been gigging around Killarney for some time now and just thought that it’s the next step,” he said.

“I was sent the song by William Scally, a music publisher in Killorglin, he asked if I’d cover it.”

Influenced by Bob Dylan, Ed Sheerin, Artic Monkeys and The Strokes, the CIT Digital Media student has hopes of making it big in the music industry since he got his first guitar aged eight.

“From a young age I have always loved music although I don’t come from a musical family. It just seemed inevitable that I would sing and play music. I love it, I couldn’t do without it.”

Shane, from Farranfore, recorded the entire single at home on his laptop and has also released a short promo of the country rock song available on YouTube and Vimeo: ‘Road To Your Heart’.
