One young girl’s hair colour is simply stunning and is sure to make someone very happy as Maja Giniewek donated 17 inches to a wig making charity.

Daughter of Monika and Karol Giniewek, nine-year-old Maja decided to go for the chop recently in Mirash Hair and Beauty, Fair Hill and gave the left over hair to the Rapunzel Foundation who make wigs for sick children and adults.

The Holy Cross Mercy Third Class pupil is feeling very proud, her mom Monika told the Killarney Advertiser this week.

“She wanted to do it earlier in the year but then we had lockdown and her Holy Communion was delayed until September 5. She couldn’t wait to get it done and was asking when she could do it.”

Maja sat happily in the hairdressers just before Level 5 restrictions came into force and excitedly watched as her long hair was cut up short.

Monika added that they are always teaching the kind youngster to help others.

“We are always teaching her that doing something small for others can make such a difference. She is very proud of herself for doing that. She is very happy with her new hairstyle and it’s easier to manage!”
