Riverdance, the iconic celebration of Irish dance, music, and culture, is returning to Killarney, from September 18-22 at the INEC.
The show dates back to April 30, 1994, when a worldwide audience of over 300 million saw the birth of Riverdance as the interval act of the Eurovision Song Contest. The seven-minute performance earned a standing ovation from the 4,000-strong audience. This ahead-of-its-time dance piece was then developed into a full stage show by producer Moya Doherty, composer Bill Whelan, and Director John McColgan.
For over two decades, nothing has carried the energy, the sensuality and the spectacle of Riverdance which is an international Irish Dancing phenomenon. Having played over 11,500 performances to over 25 million people throughout 47 countries, the stage spectacular stays true to its roots with a return to Killarney for a limited run.
This rejuvenated show at Killarney’s INEC will feature the unbelievable talent of the Riverdance lead dancers, the Riverdance Irish Dance Troupe, the live Riverdance band and international artists from Russia, Spain and the USA.
