Repair plan for Roads in Killarney National Park

Kerry County Council has confirmed that repair work to roads within the national park will be repaired in the next few weeks.

There were concerns that some of the roads, as used by jarvies, had fallen in to disrepair.

Some of the roads are actually owned by the and National Parks and Wildlife Services and not Kerry County Council but the two bodies have a long-term plan in place to repair roads in the park.

“However in the immediate term it has been agreed that repair works will be carried out by Kerry County Council on behalf of the NPWS,”  said a council spokesperson on Thursday.  “In relation to the roads at Knockreer funding has been allocated to do a repair job and the contractor will be on site in the coming days.”
