Six Killarney festivals and events are among the 42 festivals county-wide to receive funding from Kerry County Council on behalf of Fáilte Ireland.
Earlier this week Kerry County Council announced details of over €75,000 in funding for festival and events in the county this year.
The Festival and Participative Events Programme supports festivals and participative events which drive domestic tourism and help to improve the visitor experience in Kerry.
The Killarney Mountain Festival is the biggest local benefactor of the scheme and will receive €3,750 towards running costs over the next year.
Christmas in Killarney will receive €2,250, the Killarney-based Kerry Film Festival gets €2,000 and the 4th of July Festival is in line for €1,000.
Hardman Events, organiser of the Killarney Marathon, and Run Killarney will get €750 each.
The Tourism Unit of Kerry County Council administers this programme on behalf of Fáilte Ireland.
To be considered for funding, a minimum festival/event expenditure of €10,000 must be demonstrated and 42 festivals and events have been granted funding for 2019 events from a total allocation of €75,250.
