Killarney Golf & Fishing Club has appointed Graham Spring as the new Director of Golf at the historic course. The Tralee man, a qualified PGA professional and a member of the Club Managers Association of Europe, will bring a wealth of international experience to the club when be begins his new role on March 30.
After dedicating much of his earlier life to playing golf, the highlights of which were representing Ireland at Boy’s and Men’s level and competing in the 1998 British Open, Graham then moved to a career in golf club management. He spent six years at the five-star Doha Golf Club in Qatar and most recently he has been the General Manager of McGuirks Golf retail store in Tralee.
“I am really excited to be appointed as Director of Golf at such a prestigious club. I have thoroughly enjoyed playing golf at Killarney down through the years and I am now looking forward to working with all the team at Killarney Golf & Fishing Club to contribute to a memorable golfing experience for members and guests. The club has great ambitions as outlined in the Five Year Vision and I look forward to being part of this,” Mr Spring told the Killarney Advertiser.
The appointment was made by Synergy Golf, the professional golf management company, employed by the club to look after course maintenance and management details.
