A cheque for €1,500 was presented to the Kerry Hospice Foundation thanks to a kind gesture by one local business.

Denis Reidy, General Manager of Muckross House, was in attendance at the Muckross Garden Restaurant recently to make the cheque presentation. Funds were raised during December as Restaurant Manager Colin Baker and staff took some time out from their busy schedule and erected a seasonal themed display and crib at the restaurant.

They invited people to make donations to Kerry Hospice Foundation and  raised €1,500.

The Garden Restaurant is a popular and busy diner and Kerry Hospice Killarney Branch members appreciate this charitable gesture by Colin and staff.

“The Killarney branch are very grateful to Colin Baker and staff at Muckross Gardens for selecting us as beneficiaries for their fundraiser,” Pat Doolin from the Killarney branch of the Kerry Hospice Foundation, said.

Their next fundraiser is the Good Friday Vivien O’Shea/Sheila McGillycuddy Memorial Walk which takes place on April 19.

“I also want to thank in general the staff at Muckross House & Gardens who have always been very helpful to us when organising our annual Good Friday fundraising walk. The restaurant staff in particular are always accommodating when it comes to event registration and raffle.”
