The team at Killarney Racecourse have pulled off another major coup for this week’s festival with a guest appearance by ‘Love Island’ winner Greg O’Shea.
Greg, and glamorous model and TV personality Yvonne Connolly, will be the celebrity judges for the Best Dressed Lady and Man competitions tomorrow (Saturday), which will guarantee another bumper attendance on the final day of the four-day festival which got underway on Wednesday.
Limerick lad and rugby star Greg (24) became a major media star when millions of viewers watched as he won the smash hit reality TV series with Amber Gill.
Yvonne Connolly ¬is a winner of the VIP Most Stylish Woman award and the stunning mum-of-three is widely acknowledged as one of the most glamorous women in Ireland.
She is also an enthusiastic amateur jockey and she recently rode ‘Neverrushacon’ to victory at the Corinthian Challenge for Irish Injured Jockeys at The Curragh.
“I’m very much looking forward to returning to the Killarney Races to judge the best dressed on Ladies Day. Stylish ladies who will stand out for me will wear their outfits with confidence and elegance,” she said.
“I’m looking for individual flair, someone who puts their own stamp on a look without trying too hard.”
Best Dressed Lady will receive diamond jewellery valued at €1,000 and the man will get a wristwatch worth €600, both sponsored by Keane’s Jewellers of Cork, Limerick and Killarney.
There will also be prizes for the runners-up in both competitions.
Tomorrow’s action packed day will bring the curtain down on a memorable summer of racing in Killarney with an all flat card starting at 1.20pm with the feature race being the Vincent O’Brien Ruby Stakes worth €50,000 at 3.05pm.
