Killarney band Greywind will perform in front of 70,000 music fans and share space with chart topper George Ezra at the legendary Isle of Wight Festival this weekend.

The two-piece alternative rock band, formed by siblings Steph and Paul O’Sullivan, has already performed at the Reading, Leeds and Download festivals in the UK.

The four-day festival got underway yesterday (Thursday), but the Rock Road duo are not due to play until Saturday night when they will share space with the likes of Ezra, Fat Boy Slim, Rick Astley and KT Tunstall.

“We are all very excited,” their father Paul told the Killarney Advertiser. “This is one of the most famous and iconic festivals in the world.”

Greywind left Killarney early yesterday morning ahead of a rehearsal in Southend today (Friday), before travelling to the Isle of Wight.

On their return they will record a new song and on the back of that will tour Ireland. They have promised to hold their first gig in Killarney in November or December next.
