Seven hotels are to take part in the second Killarney Hotel Recruitment Fair taking place next February.
The event, which is organised by South Kerry Development Partnership through The SICAP programme, aims to assist job seekers and employers in the hotel sector with vacancies to meet in a more informal setting. It also offers both the jobseekers and the employers the opportunity to meet a large range of potential employers and employees on the same day. The event targets job seekers both with experience in the hotel sector already but also those who are seeking a change in career and who can take up many different roles within the hotel sector.
SKDP Enterprise Officer Joanne Griffin, who organises the event, said that the first event proved to be so successful this year it was decided to go ahead with it again in 2020.
“Of the almost 100 job seekers who attended the event, more than one third of them secured employment with hotels who attended on the day,” Joanne said.
“Both the hotels and the jobseekers who attended also found the event very useful as it gave them the chance to get to know each other in a setting outside the direct workplace,” she added.
The current hotels involved are The Great Southern Killarney, Cahernane House Hotel, The Gleneagle Group, the Muckross Park Hotel, the Aghadoe Heights Hotel, The Killarney Park and The Lake Hotel.
Joanne added that she would welcome any other hotels in the greater Killarney area who are interested in taking part to get involved.
