The Killarney Rugby Club seniors are back up and running and their recently appointed management team are looking for new recruits to join the camp.
“Killarney RFC would like to extend a welcome to anybody looking to try out the game, and to former players who would like to get back involved,” the club told the Killarney Advertiser. “All levels of ability are welcome to join a fun, hardworking, inclusive and welcoming environment.”
Two former captains of the club, Brian O’Leary and Brian O’Sullivan, are joined on the new management team by front row legend John ‘Scully’ O’Sullivan, Mike Nash, who played for Killarney with distinction at all age grades, and James Crothall.
Crothall played extensively in the UK and has settled in Killarney with his young family.
Professional strength and conditioning coach Brian Foley of Activate Fitness rounds out the coaching group. Foley has designed and is overseeing a so far extremely successful preseason training programme. The lads, who are captained by long-term servant Damien O’Carroll, now have five weeks of preparation under their belt.
Training takes place on Mondays and Thursdays at 7.30pm. Contact Brian O’Sullivan on 087 2458637 for further information.
