Last week’s charity golf outing raised a fantastic €12k all in a day with proceeds going to local charities.
The event, organised by the Killarney Lions Club, will see the funds go to worthy causes such as Kerry Stars Special Olympics and Kerry Hospice.
“This is the 35thrunning of the charity event and to-date has raised in the region of €350,000 for local charities,” President of the Killarney Lions Club, Ronan Doyle, told the Killarney Advertiser.
He said that the event was a fantastic success with 40 teams playing on the day.
“We would like to thank all those that made last week’s charity golf day a fantastic success.
We raised €12,000 on the day.The weather held up nicely and all were looked after on the course by Lions Club member Jason Higgins, with the food sponsored by The Dromhall Hotel and Tim Jones Butchers. Thanks to all those that volunteered their time on the day, from chefs, family, friends, to local hotel staff.”
