Killarney Golf & Fishing Club in collaboration with one of Kerry’s leading caterers, Truffle Honey is launching its new restaurant to visitors and members.

“We are excited to welcome the team of Mike and Collette Hayes, Shane Edwards of Truffle Honey to our team,” General Manager of the 127-year-old Club, Garrett Donnery, said.

“With the launch of our new restaurant we look forward to welcoming back visitors to enjoy a world-class food and dining experience surrounded by the spectacular panoramic views of our golf courses, lakes and mountains of Killarney.”

Chef, Mike Hayes who heads up the kitchen team, started his career studying Culinary Arts in Limerick, going on to chef at the five-star Park Hotel in Kenmare. He has since worked in some of the best restaurants in Ireland and internationally. Sous Chef, Louise O’Donoghue, also joins the team. Louise has worked in the exclusive Merrion Hotel in Dublin, five-star Muckcross Park Hotel and the Killarney Park Hotel. Collette Hayes, as restaurant hostess, will be responsible for event planning. Collette grew up in a guesthouse environment and working in hospitality is second nature.

The restaurant’s Director of Food and Beverage, Shane Edwards, is a Killarney native who trained in many high-end bars and restaurants both nationally and abroad, receiving his BA in Hotel and Catering Management while working on the management team of the five-star Muckcross Park Hotel.

Mr Hayes said that the restaurant will offer an appetising and varied breakfast, lunch and dinner options that will be prepared fresh daily, directly on the premises with the respect to the customers’ preferences and at an excellent price.

“We welcome visitors and members. Whether you are golfer or not, everyone is welcome. Our priority is delivering a superb casual dining experience in our beautiful location at the golf club that will have our customers coming back for more.”

The new restaurant at Killarney Golf & Fishing Club, will open from Monday, June 29, seven days a week, from 9am to 9pm, and is now taking visitor and group bookings.
