Lucky winner Tom Long was overjoyed to learn he’s the proud winner of a new Ford Fiesta in the FAI National Club Draw.
Tom’s winning ticket was purchased at The Killarney Outlet Centre where, for the last number of months, members from Killarney Celtic FC and Killarney Celtic Football for All have been selling tickets to raise funds for the club. Tom, originally from Inch and now living in Roscommon, bought five tickets and won the car in the Munster section of the draw. He also had another winning ticket which he had allocated to his sister who won two tickets to an Ireland game at the Aviva Stadium.
“I can’t believe my luck, I was on a visit to Killarney, saw the car draw and thought I’d chance my luck,” he said. “I am over the moon with my win and am grateful to Killarney Celtic FC and the FAI.”
The FAI National Club Draw is an annual draw that assists grassroots clubs with their fundraising efforts. The prizes are provided by the FAI through the generosity of their sponsors and clubs can retain a substantial percentage of the money raised to invest in developing their programmes.
Mike Lyne, Director of Football at Killarney Celtic, congratulated Tom on his win and thanked all the people who supported the draw. Mike also wished to thank Padraig Sweeney from Killarney Autos for allowing one of their New Ford Fiestas to be on show throughout the fundraising period at Killarney Outlet Centre.
