Healy-Rae set for new TV show

The chemistry between them is TV gold – and it’s set to continue – with a new programme in the works for starring TD Michael Healy-Rae and Ireland’s Got Talent host Lucy Kennedy.

The popular duo had the country in stitches on Virgin Media’s ‘Livin’ With Lucy’, as humous Kennedy spent days with Healy-Rae at his south Kerry home last year for a fly-on-the-wall look at his hectic life and schedule as a TD.

Now they’re set to team up once again, and speculation is mounting as to what the programme will contain, as Michael Healy-Rae this week confirmed to the Killarney Advertiser that filming will be completed before the end of the year.

The yet unnamed programme is being made by an Irish production company, although it’s unclear who will buy it – but it’s thought to once again be brought to Irish screens via Virgin Media.

“Whatever we’ll do we’ll have a laugh doing it,” Michael Healy-Rae told the Killarney Advertiser this week.

“I hope people enjoy it. We get on good together. She’s a very capable lady and knows what people enjoy.”

And when pushed as to when it will be brought to TV screens, he said that hopefully it’ll be ready by early 2020.

“It is coming together. Hopefully it’ll be ready for early next year.”

Speaking of his strong friendship with Lucy Kennedy he said they get on like a house on fire.

“There’s no airs and graces about her, that’s why we get on so well.”
