Half a million visited Muckross House last year
Muckross House, Gardens and Traditional Farm is the eight most popular visitor attraction in Ireland – according to new figures released by Fáilte Ireland.
The Killarney attraction, the only Kerry mention on the list, attracted 550,649 visitors last year.
The most-visited tourist attraction in the country is the Guinness Storehousewhich had 1,736,156visitors through its doors last year.
The Cliffs of Moher closely follows in second place with 1.5 million and Dublin Zoo holds the third spot with over 1.2 million visitors.
In a separate report issued by the Office of Public Works (OPW), Ross Castle is one of the most visited heritage sites attracting 103,000 visitors in 2018.
Also, this week website www.irelandbeforeyoudie.com named Killarney National Park as one of the ‘10 destinations that prove Ireland is the most beautiful place on Earth’.
