In a ground-breaking new deal, local business Four Star Pizza have come on board as sponsors of the Killarney Advertiser sports section. The sponsorship arrangement will see the popular pizza restaurant teaming up with our sports department to provide our readers with regular prizes via trivia questions and other fun giveaways.
Announcing the partnership, Killarney Advertiser Business Development Manager Chris Davies praised the work being done by the magazine’s sports department and also thanked Four Star owner Seánie Culloty for agreeing to the deal.
“Significant disruption to sports the past year has presented many challenges for journalists, particularly those who focus on delivering local action,” Chris said. “Despite the lack of local action, we believe the Killarney Advertiser continues to be an enjoyable weekly read for sports enthusiasts in the town. From content to design, our Sports Editor Adam Moynihan is always finding creative ways to engage with our readers and this latest partnership is a testament to the work being done by him and the rest of the sports team.
“We are delighted to partner with Four Star Pizza Killarney for the coming year. Seánie Culloty is well-known for his generosity and support for sport in the community and so we are obviously proud to have Four Star aligned with our sports section going forward.
“Our readers can also look forward to Adam’s weekly sports trivia on our social platforms where we will be giving away lots of free pizza!”
Seánie Culloty said he was excited to get the new project up and running.
“We are delighted to sponsor the Killarney Advertiser’s sports section, which is a very popular read here in town. We hope to have a bit of fun with it and plan to run plenty of pizza giveaways for Killarney Advertiser readers throughout the year.”
Killarney Advertiser Sports Editor Adam Moynihan also welcomed the move and expressed his gratitude to Four Star for their support during these uncertain times.
“The pandemic has made things a bit more challenging for everybody and the print media is no exception, so to be able to bring in a new sponsor at this time is a real bonus,” Adam said. “I know Seánie well from the GAA scene – he’s a great man for the sports and, of course, the Culloty name is synonymous with sporting excellence here in Killarney. It’s fantastic to have Four Star on board as a sponsor and I’m looking forward to working with them to create some enjoyable competitions throughout the year.”
