Over €6,000 was this week donated to charity Aware thanks to the help of Killarney locals who once again took part in the annual Dundag Dip.
The 11th Christmas Day event, organised each year by Niki McCarthy in memory of her 26-year-old sister Sylvan, was once again another success.
To date, the annual dips have raised over €55,000, Niki explained to the Killarney Advertiser.
“It’s an amazing achievement as at first we only had about 20 people participating. This year we had around 250,” she said.
“I’d like to thank all the participants, Derek and Conor O’Leary, Order of Malta, MD O’ Sheas, SuperValu and The Franciscan Friary.”
