Members of the Beaufort Active Retirement team have taken home the runners-up prize at Active Retirement Ireland’s 2019 National Bowls Competition and Activity Break in the Small Bowls Plate Competition.
60 teams from across the country took part in the competition, which took place at the INEC, in Killarney.
“The Beaufort team of Margaret Sweeney, Michael Moloney, Alan Ferriter and Eileen Rooney, narrowly missed out on winning the Small Bowls Plate Competition,” Maureen Kavanagh, Chief Executive of Active Retirement Ireland, said.
“They are very strong and impressive runners-up in the competition. I have no doubt they will be back again next year to try and take the top spot.”
In addition to the national bowls competition, activity highlights at the three-day Active Retirement Ireland event included the organisation’s inaugural pickleball championship, walks, cookery demonstrations, and yoga.
