KILLARNEY businesses took a bow at the 2017 Killarney Retailer of the Year Awards in the International Hotel.
The awards, sponsored by AIB, were organised by the retail members of Killarney Chamber of Commerce. The first prize on the night went to ladies fashion boutique Scarlett of Scott Street, while second and third places went to J Mac IT & Office Solutions and Daly’s SuperValu respectively. “Scarlett has enjoyed an amazing first year in business and has been extremely well received by both locals and tourists alike,” said Karen Healy of Scarlett.
Tanya O’Shea of Eason Killarney said the feedback from the awards had been “exceptionally positive”.
Retail consultant group Crest Mystery Shopping was commissioned by the Killarney Retail Group at Killarney Chamber, to carry out mystery shopping trips at participating stores.
Michele Cawley of Crest said the team of mystery shoppers was very impressed. “When analysing the results, we found that Killarney’s combined average was between 3% to 5% higher than the national average,” she added.
Meanwhile, the “Shopping in Killarney Christmas Hampers Giveaway” will run from December 1 to December 18, with three bumper prizes to be won as well as gift vouchers. To enter, customers who purchase in participating stores can fill out an entry form and be included in the grand draw on December 19.
