They’re back…and hoping for a ‘full house’!
Christmas in Killarney’s best loved Gobnaits are back again this year with more fun and madness for their annual Christmas Bingo night.
The famous four arrived in town on Monday morning, courtesy of Pat Moynihan’s ‘Bingo Bus’ with the help of Fr Andrew Joy, to launch their own style charity ’Christmas Bingo with the Gobnaits’.
The unique fun event will take place on Wednesday, December 12, at the Laurels Hall, Main Street, Killarney.
And Pat Moynihan’s ‘Bingo Bus’ will be on hand to collect participants from Beech Road car park, at 8.30pm on the night.
Bingo will begin at 9pm sharp and a book of cards is €10.
Dressing as a Gobnait, or one of Gobnait’s husbands, is optional!
Host for the evening is none other than Fr Andrew Joy.
“It promises to be a night of fun and hilarity, with a trip down Killarney’s memory lane,” Andrew Joy said.
“We’re hoping for a full house on the night. I’m also encouraging as many people to avail of Pat Moynihan’s ‘Bingo Bus’ which departs Beech Road car park at 8.30pm, and after a quick tour of the town, will drop Bingo passengers to The Laurels in Main Street! Expect more of the same antics as last year’s fun table quiz, and if you’re easily offended by good ‘clane’ (sic) fun, stay at home.”
As part of the fun on the night participants will be tasked with various jobs, such as, ‘run over to Reidy’s for a bag of bon bons’, make a few sandwiches for the ’Tay’ at half time, ‘run down to Colm Foley for last week’s ‘Cork Examiner’, wash a few tea towels – all in the cause of good old time traditional fun this Christmas, he added.
Fun spot prizes, including the traditional tin of USA Assorted Biscuits, Blue Nun, and sunlight soap are all up for grabs, and of course a few excellent vouchers for dinner and shopping for some lucky competitors.
“Our Gobnaits include, Kate O’Leary, Emer Corridon, Julie McGowan and Annmarie O’Shea-Kennelly.
“Video clips and news updates will be posted on the Christmas in Killarney Facebook page – you have been warned!”
