A fun night showcasing some exceptional talent is planned in Killarney this coming Saturday night – with a ‘Lip Sinc Kids’ event.

Organised by the Rathmore Ravens Basketball Club, there’s plenty of rehearsals underway for the night, which takes place on Saturday, May 11 in the Heights Hotel, Killarney.

Nine acts will perform and three surprise judges will be making the difficult decisions on the night – two of whom are well known local stars.

There are over 50 children, both members and non-members, volunteering their time in preparation, all masterfully guided by well-known Creative Director, Joe Burkett,

Lorraine Dineen, Rathmore Ravens Lip Sinc Kids Committee, explained to the Killarney Advertiser.

“The excitement is building and with kids from Rathmore and the surrounding areas taking part, it’s going to be a fantastic local event,” she said.

“This year marks our 10 year anniversary, and so, to celebrate this and raise important funds, we are excited to announce this event. The Lip Sinc craze is huge, and our acts have really gotten into character. The children are from Rathmore, Glenflesk, Gneeveguilla, Hollymount and Knocknagree. Our acts are currently being revealed on Facebook: RathmoreRavens.”

The basketball club has gone from strength to strength over the past number of years, and this year they have over 180 members registered, she added.

Doors open at 6pm with the show starting at 7pm. Tickets are €20 and tickets for primary aged children are €10. To book tickets call 087 7791831 or 0863747780. Tickets will be on sale in Centra, Rathmore today (Friday) from 9.30-11.30am.
